Chen Institute Partners with ISSCR to Establish Fellowship for Stem Cell Reports Early Career Editorial Board

The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) is delighted to announce a partnership with the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute, establishing a fellowship program to support members of the Stem Cell Reports Early Career Editorial Board (ECEB). The program facilitates attendance at the ISSCR Annual Meeting, mentoring opportunities, and the development of scientific programs that will cultivate and deepen leadership skills.

ISSCR Joins Coalition Letter to Support 5% Increase in NIH Funding for FY 2024

The ISSCR is among 373 members of the Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research who signed a joint letter in support robust funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). For fiscal year (FY) 2024, the Ad Hoc Group recommends at least $50.924 billion for NIH’s foundational work, a $3.465 billion increase over the comparable FY 2023 program level.

ISSCR Meets with Policymakers in Washington, D.C.

The ISSCR hosted its second Congressional Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. on March 2, which was a great success. A group of 20 ISSCR members and staff met with nearly 40 offices of key legislators to advocate for an increase in National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding for FY 2024, discuss the importance of access to fetal tissue for research, and explain the value of chimeric embryo research.
